This agreement is between [Your Name], trading as [Business Name] of [Your Town] (the "Cleaner"), and the client named below (the "Client").
This agreement takes effect on the date signed below and governs all cleaning services provided by the Cleaner to the Client at the property address specified.
Client name: [Client Name]
Client address: [Client Address]
The Cleaner agrees to provide domestic cleaning services at the Client's property. The scope of each visit includes the following unless otherwise agreed in writing:
The following tasks are not included in the standard service unless specifically agreed and priced separately:
Service type: [Regular / One-off / Both]
Frequency: [e.g. weekly every Monday, fortnightly, monthly]
Estimated duration per visit: [e.g. 2 hours, 3 hours]
The agreed rate is [Hourly Rate / £XX per hour — or flat rate of £XX per visit].
Payment is due:
Where payment is by bank transfer, the Cleaner's bank details are:
Account name: [Your Name] | Sort code: [XX-XX-XX] | Account no: [XXXXXXXX]
Fees are reviewed annually. The Cleaner will give at least 4 weeks' written notice of any rate increase. Unpaid invoices outstanding for more than 14 days may attract a late payment charge of [£5 / 2%] per week, and the Cleaner reserves the right to suspend visits until the account is settled.
Where the Client provides products, these must be clearly labelled, accessible, and safe to use. The Cleaner will not use products they consider unsuitable or potentially damaging to surfaces.
Where the Cleaner provides products, a small materials charge of [£X per visit / included in rate] applies. The Cleaner uses [standard domestic cleaning products / eco-friendly products].
The Cleaner takes reasonable care in all work carried out. In the unlikely event of accidental damage caused by the Cleaner, the Client must notify the Cleaner in writing (by email or message) within 24 hours of the visit in which the damage occurred.
The Cleaner's liability for any single incident is limited to [£X,000 / the cost of repair or replacement at current value, whichever is lower]. The Cleaner is not liable for pre-existing damage, damage to fragile or high-value items not disclosed prior to the visit, or damage resulting from the Client's own cleaning products.
The Client is advised to ensure their home contents insurance covers accidental damage by domestic workers. The Cleaner holds public liability insurance up to [£X million — or "details available on request"].
Access arrangements: [Client present during all visits / Cleaner holds a key / Key collected from keysafe — describe arrangement]
Where the Cleaner holds a key to the Client's property, the terms of the separate Key Holding & Access Agreement apply. Keys will be kept securely, used only for agreed visits, and returned immediately upon termination of this agreement.
If the Cleaner is unable to gain access to the property at the agreed time (e.g. key failure, locked out), the full visit fee is still payable unless the Cleaner is given at least [48 / 24] hours' notice of any change.
The Cleaner operates the following cancellation policy:
If the Cleaner needs to cancel a visit, the Client will be offered a rescheduled visit at the earliest mutual convenience. The Cleaner will not charge for visits cancelled on their own initiative.
For holiday or extended absence, please see the separate Cancellation Policy document.
The Client agrees to ensure the property is safe for the Cleaner to work in, including informing the Cleaner of any hazards (e.g. unstable structures, pest issues, known allergens in products). The Cleaner may decline to work in conditions they consider unsafe.
Pets should be secured during visits where requested by the Cleaner.
Either party may terminate this agreement by giving [2 weeks / 4 weeks] written notice. The Cleaner may terminate immediately if fees remain unpaid for more than 30 days, if access is repeatedly unavailable, or if the Client engages in conduct the Cleaner considers inappropriate or unsafe.
All outstanding fees remain due on termination. Keys and any property belonging to either party must be returned promptly.
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
